With the same chain of narration, Malik narrated from Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr ibn Amr ibn Hazm that he heard his father frequently saying: Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: How strange is the paternal aunt - she causes others to inherit but does not inherit herself. It has been narrated from Umar to the contrary, and the narration of the Madinans is more likely to be authentic. And Allah knows best.
