Surayj told us: Abu Ma'shar told us, from Sa'id, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I certainly know one of you who, when a hadith comes to him from me while he is reclining on his couch, will say: 'Recite to me a verse of the Qur'an for this'; whatever good comes to you from me, whether I said it or not, I do indeed say it, but whatever evil comes to you, I do not say evil."
