حَدَّثَنَا عَبِيدَةُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ قَالَ كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يُذَكِّرُ كُلَّ خَمِيسٍ أَوْ اثْنَيْنِ الْأَيَّامَ قَالَ فَقُلْنَا أَوْ فَقِيلَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِنَّا لَنُحِبُّ حَدِيثَكَ وَنَشْتَهِيهِ وَوَدِدْنَا أَنَّكَ تُذَكِّرُنَا كُلَّ يَوْمٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ لَا يَمْنَعُنِي مِنْ ذَاكَ إِلَّا أَنِّي أَكْرَهُ أَنْ أُمِلَّكُمْ وَإِنِّي لَأَتَخَوَّلُكُمْ بِالْمَوْعِظَةِ كَمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَخَوَّلُنَا.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Ubayda — meaning Ibn Humayd — told us, from Mansur, from Abu Wa'il, who said: Abdullah used to give reminders every Thursday or Monday, on those particular days. We said, or it was said, "O Abu Abdul Rahman, we love your speech and desire it, and we would love for you to remind us every day." Abdullah said, "Nothing prevents me from that except that I dislike wearying you, and I choose times for you with admonition, just as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to choose times for us."
