Husayn ibn al-Hasan told us: Abu Kudayna told us, from Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib, from al-Qasim ibn Abdul Rahman, from his father, from Abdullah, who said: A Jew passed by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was speaking with his companions, and Quraysh said, "O Jew, this man claims to be a prophet." He said, "I shall ask him about something that only a prophet knows." He said: He came and sat down, then said, "O Muhammad, from what is man created?" He said, "O Jew, from all: he is created from the sperm-drop of the man and the sperm-drop of the woman. As for the sperm-drop of the man, it is a thick fluid from which come the bone and the sinew; and as for the sperm-drop of the woman, it is a thin fluid from which come the flesh and the blood." The Jew stood up and said, "Thus said those before you."
