حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَتِيقٍ عَنْ طَلْقِ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ عَنِ الْأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَلَا هَلَكَ الْمُتَنَطِّعُونَ ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ قَالَ يَحْيَى فِي حَدِيثٍ طَوِيلٍ.

Yahya ibn Sa’id told us: Ibn Jurayj told us: Sulayman ibn Atiq told me, from Talq ibn Habib, from al-Ahnaf ibn Qays, from Abdullah ibn Mas’ud, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said, "Indeed the excessively meticulous are ruined" — three times. Yahya said: in a long hadith.
