Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, Maymun, meaning Abu Muhammad al-Mara'i al-Tamimi, narrated to us, Yahya ibn Abi Kathir narrated to us, from Yusuf ibn Abdullah ibn Salam. He said: I accompanied Abu al-Darda' to learn from him. When death approached him, he said: "Announce my death to the people." So I announced his death to the people, and I came back to find the house and beyond it filled with people. He said: I said, "I have announced your death to the people, and the house and beyond it is filled." He said: "Carry me out." So we carried him out. He said: "Seat me." So we seated him. He said: "O people, I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: 'Whoever performs wudu and perfects it, then prays two rak'ahs completing them fully, Allah will grant him whatever he asks, whether sooner or later.'" Abu al-Darda' said: "O people, beware of turning around (in prayer), for there is no prayer for the one who turns around. If you are overcome in voluntary prayers, do not be overcome in the obligatory ones."
