حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ يَعْنِي الْعَطَّارَ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَجُلٌ كَمْ يَكْفِينِي مِنْ الْوُضُوءِ قَالَ مُدٌّ قَالَ كَمْ يَكْفِينِي لِلْغُسْلِ قَالَ صَاعٌ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ لَا يَكْفِينِي قَالَ لَا أُمَّ لَكَ قَدْ كَفَى مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
A man said: 'How much water suffices me for ablution?' He (Ibn Abbas) said: 'A mudd (approximately 750ml).' He said: 'How much suffices me for a bath?' He said: 'A sa' (approximately 3 liters).' The man said: 'That is not enough for me.' He (Ibn Abbas) said: 'Woe to you! It was enough for one who was better than you — the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).'
