The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) addressed us from the pulpit of Basrah and said: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: There has been no prophet except that he had a supplication that he used up in this world. But I have saved my supplication as intercession for my ummah. And I am the master of the children of Adam on the Day of Resurrection, without boasting. And I am the first from whom the earth will split open, without boasting. And in my hand is the banner of praise, without boasting — Adam and those below him will be under my banner, without boasting. The Day of Resurrection will be prolonged for people, and some will say to others: Let us go to Adam, the father of mankind, so that he may intercede for us with our Lord to judge between us. They will come to Adam (peace be upon him) and say: O Adam, you are the one whom Allah created with His hand, settled in His Paradise, and had His angels prostrate to you — intercede for us with our Lord to judge between us. He will say: I am not the one for that; I was expelled from Paradise because of my sin. Today nothing concerns me except myself. But go to Nuh, the first of the prophets. They will come to Nuh and say: O Nuh, intercede for us with our Lord to judge between us. He will say: I am not the one for that; I made a supplication that drowned the people of the earth. Today nothing concerns me except myself. But go to Ibrahim, the Friend of Allah. They will come to Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and say: O Ibrahim, intercede for us with our Lord to judge between us. He will say: I am not the one for that; I told three lies in Islam — and by Allah, he only intended them for the sake of Allah's religion: his saying "I am ill" (37:89), his saying "Rather, this senior one did it, so ask them if they can speak" (21:63), and his saying to his wife when they came upon the king: "She is my sister" — today nothing concerns me except myself. But go to Musa (peace be upon him) whom Allah chose for His message and His speech. They will come to him and say: O Musa, you are the one whom Allah chose for His message and spoke to directly — intercede for us with your Lord to judge between us. He will say: I am not the one for that; I killed a soul without just cause. Today nothing concerns me except myself. But go to Isa, the Spirit of Allah and His Word. They will come to Isa and say: O Isa, intercede for us with your Lord to judge between us. He will say: I am not the one for that; I was taken as a god besides Allah. Today nothing concerns me except myself. But consider — if you had goods in a sealed container, could you reach what is inside until the seal is broken? They will say: No. He will say: Indeed Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the Seal of the Prophets, and he is present today, and he has been forgiven his past and future sins. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: They will come to me and say: O Muhammad, intercede for us with your Lord to judge between us. I will say: I am for that — until Allah the Almighty gives permission to whom He wills and is pleased with. When Allah, Blessed and Most High, wishes to make a judgment among His creation, a caller will call out: Where is Ahmad and his ummah? For we are the last but the first — we are the last of nations but the first to be judged. The nations will part to make way for us, and we will proceed radiant, with light on our faces, hands, and feet from the traces of ablution. The nations will say: This ummah was almost entirely prophets! We will come to the gate of Paradise, and I will take hold of the door-ring and knock. It will be said: Who are you? I will say: I am Muhammad. The door will be opened for me, and I will come to my Lord, the Almighty, upon His seat — or His throne (Hammad was unsure) — and I will fall prostrate to Him, praising Him with praises that none before me has praised Him with and none after me will praise Him with. It will be said: O Muhammad, raise your head. Ask and you shall be given, speak and you shall be heard, intercede and your intercession shall be accepted. I will raise my head and say: O my Lord, my ummah, my ummah! He will say: Bring out those who have in their hearts the weight of such-and-such — Hammad did not memorize exactly. Then I will return and prostrate, saying the same. It will be said: Raise your head, speak and you shall be heard, ask and you shall be given, intercede and your intercession shall be accepted. I will say: O my Lord, my ummah, my ummah! He will say: Bring out those who have in their hearts the weight of such-and-such — less than the first. Then I will return and prostrate, saying the same. It will be said to me: Raise your head, speak and you shall be heard, ask and you shall be given, intercede and your intercession shall be accepted. I will say: O my Lord, my ummah, my ummah! He will say: Bring out those who have in their hearts the weight of such-and-such — less than that.'
