حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ قَالَ يَحْيَى أَمْلَاهُ عَلَيَّ هِشَامٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي قَالَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ قَالَتْ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُوَافِينَ لِهِلَالِ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُهِلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ فَلْيُهِلَّ وَمَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُهِلَّ بِحَجَّةٍ فَلْيُهِلَّ فَلَوْلَا أَنِّي أَهْدَيْتُ أَهْلَلْتُ بِعُمْرَةٍ قَالَتْ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ أَهَلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ أَهَلَّ بِحَجَّةٍ وَكُنْتُ مِمَّنْ أَهَلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ فَحِضْتُ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَدْخُلَ مَكَّةَ فَأَدْرَكَنِي يَوْمُ عَرَفَةَ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ فَشَكَوْتُ ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ دَعِي عُمْرَتَكِ وَانْقُضِي رَأْسَكِ وَامْتَشِطِي وَأَهِلِّي بِالْحَجِّ فَفَعَلْتُ فَلَمَّا كَانَتْ لَيْلَةُ الْحَصْبَةِ أَرْسَلَ مَعِي عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ إِلَى التَّنْعِيمِ فَأَرْدَفَهَا فَأَهَلَّتْ بِعُمْرَةٍ مَكَانَ عُمْرَتِهَا فَقَضَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ حَجَّهَا وَعُمْرَتَهَا وَلَمْ يَكُنْ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْ ذَلِكَ هَدْيٌ وَلَا صَوْمٌ وَلَا صَدَقَةٌ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ نَحْوَهُ قَالَ وَكِيعٌ وَاغْتَسِلِي وَأَهِلِّي بِالْحَجِّ قَالَ عُرْوَةُ فَقَضَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ حَجَّهَا وَعُمْرَتَهَا.

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us: Hisham narrated to us - Yahya said Hisham dictated it to me - he said: my father informed me, he said: Aisha informed me, who said: We set out with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, at the approach of the new moon of Dhul-Hijjah. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Whoever wishes to enter ihram for Umrah, let him do so, and whoever wishes to enter ihram for Hajj, let him do so; were it not that I have brought a sacrificial animal, I would enter ihram for Umrah.' She said: Some of them entered ihram for Umrah and some for Hajj, and I was among those who entered ihram for Umrah. Then I menstruated before entering Makkah, and it overtook me on the Day of Arafah while I was still menstruating. I complained of that to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said: 'Leave your Umrah, undo your hair, comb it, and enter ihram for Hajj.' So I did. Then, on the night of al-Hasbah, he sent Abd al-Rahman with me to al-Tan'im, and he mounted her behind him, and she entered ihram for an Umrah in place of her earlier Umrah. So Allah, Mighty and Sublime, completed both her Hajj and her Umrah, and there was no sacrificial animal, nor fasting, nor charity required in any of that. Waki' narrated to us, Hisham narrated to us similarly; Waki' said: 'and wash yourself and enter ihram for Hajj.' Urwah said: 'So Allah, Mighty and Sublime, completed her Hajj and her Umrah.'
