Abu Nuh narrated to us: Malik ibn Anas informed us, from Abdullah ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Ma'mar, from Abu Yunus, from Aisha, who said: A man asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was standing at the door and I was listening; he said: I rise in the morning in a state of major ritual impurity while I intend to fast. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: I too rise in the morning in a state of major ritual impurity while I intend to fast. The man said: I am not like you -- Allah has forgiven you your past and future sins. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, became angry and said: I hope that I am the most fearful of you all of the Lord, Mighty and Sublime, and the most knowledgeable of you of what I should guard against.
