Aswad told us: Sharik told us, from Yahya ibn Sa'id, from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad, from A'ishah, who said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) rose from his bed during part of the night, and I thought he intended to visit one of his wives, so I followed him until he stood at the graves and said: 'Peace be upon you, abode of a believing people, and we shall surely join you.' Then he said: 'O Allah, do not deprive us of their reward, and do not try us after them.'" She said: "Then he turned and saw me, and said, 'Woe to her! Had she been able, what would she have done?'"
