حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْأَزْرَقِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى الْعَصْرَ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ يُصَلِّي فَرَآهُ عُمَرُ فَقَالَ لَهُ اجْلِسْ فَإِنَّمَا هَلَكَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِصَلَاتِهِمْ فَصْلٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحْسَنَ ابْنُ الْخَطَّابِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'ba told us, from al-Azraq ibn Qays, from Abdullah ibn Rabah, from a man among the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed the afternoon prayer, and a man got up to pray [more], and Umar saw him and said to him, "Sit down, for the People of the Book perished only because there was no break in their prayer." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Ibn al-Khattab has done well.
