Abd al-Razzaq told us: Ma'mar told us, from Sa'id al-Jurayri, from Abu al-Ala' ibn Abd Allah ibn al-Shikhkhir, from Nu'aym ibn Qa'nab, who said: I went out to al-Rabadhah, and there Abu Dharr had come and spoke to his wife about something; she seemed to answer him back, and he repeated it, and she repeated her answer. He said: "Do not go beyond what the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'The woman is like a rib: if you try to straighten her, she breaks; but there is benefit in her, and some crookedness.'"
