حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ عَنْ حَيَّانَ حَدَّثَنِي قَطَنُ بْنُ قَبِيصَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ الْعِيَافَةَ وَالطَّرْقَ وَالطِّيَرَةَ مِنْ الْجِبْتِ قَالَ عَوْفٌ الْعِيَافَةُ زَجْرُ الطَّيْرِ وَالطَّرْقُ الْخَطُّ يُخَطُّ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَالْجِبْتُ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ إِنَّهُ الشَّيْطَانُ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us, 'Awf told us, Qatan ibn Qabisa told me, from his father, that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "Indeed bird-omen reading, ground-line divination, and evil omen-taking are of idolatrous divination." 'Awf said: bird-omen reading is scaring off birds to read omens, and ground-line divination is the line drawn in the ground, and as for idolatrous divination, al-Hasan said it is Satan.
