Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us, Sa'id and Abd al-Wahhab told us - from Sa'id - from Qatadah, from al-Hasan, from Abu Bakrah, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Let none of you say: 'I stood in prayer the whole of Ramadan.'" He said: "Allah, Blessed and Exalted, knows best whether he feared that his nation would attribute purity to themselves." Abd al-Wahhab said: "Allah knows best whether he feared self-attribution of purity for his nation," or he said: "There must inevitably be sleep or heedlessness."
