Yazid narrated to us: Hisham ibn Hassan informed us, from Muhammad ibn Sirin, from Abu Ubaydah, from a man, who said: I said to Adi ibn Hatim: There is a report that has reached me from you which I would like to hear from you. He said: Yes. When news reached me of the emergence of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, I disliked his emergence intensely, so I set out until I ended up in the direction of the Byzantines - and Yazid said: meaning at Baghdad - until I came to Caesar. He said: I disliked my situation there even more than I had disliked his emergence. I said: By Allah, why do I not go to this man - if he is a liar it will not harm me, and if he is truthful I will know it. So I came and went to him. When I arrived, the people said: Adi ibn Hatim, Adi ibn Hatim! I entered upon the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said to me: O Adi ibn Hatim, accept Islam and you will be safe - three times. I said: I follow a religion. He said: I know your religion better than you do. I said: You know my religion better than I do? He said: Yes, are you not of the Rakusiyyah, and do you not eat a quarter share of your people's spoils? I said: Indeed. He said: That is not lawful for you in your religion. He had barely said this when I humbled myself before it. He said: I know what prevents you from Islam - you say that only the weak and powerless people have followed him, and the Arabs have shot them down. Do you know al-Hirah? I said: I have not seen it, but I have heard of it. He said: By the One in Whose hand is my soul, Allah will surely complete this matter until the woman travels from al-Hirah and circumambulates the House without protection from anyone, and the treasures of Kisra ibn Hurmuz will surely be opened. I said: Kisra ibn Hurmuz? He said: Yes, Kisra ibn Hurmuz. And wealth will be given out until no one will accept it. Adi ibn Hatim said: This woman traveling from al-Hirah and circumambulating the House without protection has already come to pass, and I was among those who opened the treasures of Kisra ibn Hurmuz, and by the One in Whose hand is my soul, the third will surely come to pass, because the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said it.
