al-Walid ibn Muslim told us, al-Walid ibn Sulayman told us, that al-Qasim ibn Abd al-Rahman told them, from Amr ibn Fulan al-Ansari, who said: While he was walking with his waist-wrapper let down [trailing], the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, caught up with him, having taken hold of his own forelock, saying, "O Allah, [I am] Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your maidservant." Amr said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I am a man with thin shins." He said, "O Amr, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has made everything He created good, O Amr." And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, struck with four fingers of his right hand beneath Amr's knee and said, "O Amr, this is the place of the waist-wrapper," then he raised it and placed it below a second point and said, "O Amr, this is the place of the waist-wrapper."
