حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ وَرَكِبَ أَبُو أَيُّوبَ إِلَى عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ إِلَى مِصْرَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي سَائِلُكَ عَنْ أَمْرٍ لَمْ يَبْقَ مِمَّنْ حَضَرَهُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا أَنَا وَأَنْتَ كَيْفَ سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِي سَتْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ سَتَرَ مُؤْمِنًا فِي الدُّنْيَا عَلَى عَوْرَةٍ سَتَرَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَرَجَعَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَمَا حَلَّ رَحْلَهُ يُحَدِّثُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Muhammad ibn Bakr told us, Ibn Jurayj said: Abu Ayyub rode to Uqbah ibn Amir in Egypt and said: I am going to ask you about a matter — no one remains of those who witnessed it with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, except me and you. How did you hear the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, speak about concealing a believer's fault? He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Whoever conceals a believer's fault in this world, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will conceal him on the Day of Resurrection. So he returned to Medina, and before he even untied his travel bags, he was telling this hadith.
