حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ وَبَهْزٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ جَبَلَةَ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنِ ابْنِ مُحَيْرِيزٍ قَالَ بَهْزٌ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَيْرِيزٍ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِعَبْدٍ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهُّ فِي الدِّينِ.

Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi and Bahz told us, they said: Hammad ibn Salamah told us, from Jabalah ibn Atiyyah, from Ibn Muhayriz - Bahz said: Abdullah ibn Muhayriz - from Mu'awiyah ibn Abi Sufyan, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When Allah, Mighty and Sublime, intends good for a servant, He gives him understanding of the religion.
