حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ بْنُ يُونُسَ بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ عَنْ أَبِيهَا سُوَيْدِ بْنِ حَنْظَلَةَ قَالَ خَرَجْنَا نُرِيدُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَنَا وَائِلُ بْنُ حُجْرٍ فَأَخَذَهُ عَدُوٌّ لَهُ فَتَحَرَّجَ النَّاسُ أَنْ يَحْلِفُوا وَحَلَفْتُ أَنَّهُ أَخِي فَخَلَّى عَنْهُ فَأَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ أَنْتَ كُنْتَ أَبَرَّهُمْ وَأَصْدَقَهُمْ صَدَقْتَ الْمُسْلِمُ أَخُو الْمُسْلِمِ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ وأَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ عَنْ أَبِيهَا سُوَيْدِ بْنِ حَنْظَلَةَ قَالَ خَرَجْنَا نُرِيدُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَهُ.

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: Isra'il ibn Yunus ibn Abi Ishaq informed us, he said: Ibrahim ibn 'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, from his grandmother, from her father Suwayd ibn Hanzalah, who said: We set out intending to visit the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and with us was Wa'il ibn Hujr. An enemy of his seized him, and the people were reluctant to swear an oath to free him, but I swore that he was my brother, so he released him. Then we came to the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and I mentioned that to him, and he said: "You were the most devoted and truthful of them; you spoke the truth -- the Muslim is the brother of the Muslim." al-Walid ibn al-Qasim and Aswad ibn 'Amir narrated to us, they said: Isra'il narrated to us, from Ibrahim ibn 'Abd al-A'la, from his grandmother, from her father Suwayd ibn Hanzalah, who said: We set out intending to visit the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him. And he mentioned it.
