حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْكَوْسَجُ مِنْ أَهْلِ مَرْوَ فِي سَنَةِ ثَمَانٍ وَعِشْرِينَ وَمِائَتَيْنِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أخْبَرَهُ الصَّعْبُ بْنُ جَثَّامَةَ سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَهْلِ الدَّارِ مِنْ الْمُشْرِكِينَ يُبَيَّتُونَ فَيُصَابُ مِنْ نِسَائِهِمْ وَذَرَارِيِّهِمْ قَالَ هُمْ مِنْهُمْ.

'Abdullah narrated to us: Ishaq ibn Mansur al-Kawsaj, of the people of Marw, informed us in the year two hundred twenty-eight, he said: Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah informed us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Ubaydullah -- that is, Ibn 'Abdullah -- from Ibn 'Abbas: al-Sa'b ibn Jaththamah informed him that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about the households of the polytheists that are raided by night, and some of their women and children are struck. He said: "They are of them."
