Yazid told us, saying: al-Mustalim ibn Sa'id informed us: Khubayb ibn Abd al-Rahman told us, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: I came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while he intended to go on an expedition - myself and a man from my people - and we had not yet become Muslims. We said: "We are ashamed that our people should witness a scene [of battle] that we do not witness with them." He said: "Have you two become Muslims?" We said, "No." He said: "We do not seek help from polytheists against polytheists." So we became Muslims and were present with him. I killed a man, and he struck me a blow, and I later married his daughter. She used to say: "May you never lack a man to adorn you with this scar," and I would say: "May you never lack a man to hasten your father to the Fire."
