حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ جَابِرٍ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ وَسِتًّا مِنْ شَوَّالٍ فَكَأَنَّمَا صَامَ السَّنَةَ كُلَّهَا حَدَّثَنَاه الْحَسَنُ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ جَابِرٍ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ.

Abdullah ibn Yazid told us, Sa'id, that is Ibn Abi Ayyub, told us: Amr ibn Jabir al-Hadrami told me, who said: I heard Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari say: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "Whoever fasts Ramadan and follows it with six days of Shawwal, it is as if he fasted the whole year." Al-Hasan also narrated it to us — Ibn Lahi'ah informed us, Amr ibn Jabir al-Hadrami told us, who said: I heard Jabir ibn Abdullah say: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say — and he mentioned the same meaning.
