Ibn Abi Adiyy narrated to us from Humayd, from Anas, who said: Umm Sulaym sent me with a basket containing fresh dates to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, but I did not find him; he had gone out nearby to a freedman of his who had invited him and prepared food for him. He said: I came to him and found him eating, so he invited me to eat with him. He said: He had prepared for him a dish of crumbled bread with meat and gourd, and he said: he was fond of the gourd. He said: So I began gathering it and bringing it close to him. He said: When he finished eating he returned to his house, and he said: I placed the basket before him, and he began to eat from it and distribute it until he finished it all.
