حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا اجْتَمَعَ ثَلَاثَةٌ فَلْيَؤُمَّهُمْ أَحَدُهُمْ وَأَحَقُّهُمْ بِالْإِمَامَةِ أَقْرَؤُهُمْ.

Abu 'Amir told us, Hisham told us, from Qatadah, from Abu Nadrah, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "When three gather, let one of them lead them in prayer, and the most entitled of them to lead is the one who recites best."
