Abu Burdah said: I entered upon Abu Musa while he was in the house of the daughter of al-Fadl ibn al-Abbas. I sneezed, but he did not respond to me. She sneezed, and he responded to her. I told my mother, and when he came to her, she reproached him, saying: 'Your son sneezed and you did not respond, but she sneezed and you responded!' He said: 'I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: "When one of you sneezes and praises Allah, respond to him. If he does not praise Allah, do not respond." Your son sneezed and did not praise Allah, so I did not respond. She sneezed and praised Allah, so I responded.' She said: 'You have done well.'
