Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:965 حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ أَبَا رَافِعٍ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ صَاحِبُ الذِّرَاعِ قَالَ قَالَ لِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ» فَنَاوَلْتُهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ «نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ» فَنَاوَلْتُهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ «نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ» فَقُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ وَلِلشَّاةِ غَيْرُ ذِرَاعَيْنِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَوْ نَاوَلْتَنِي مَا زِلْتَ تُنَاوِلُنِي»
English Translation
Abu Rafi' narrated — and he was the companion of the foreleg — the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to me: "Hand me the foreleg." So I handed it to him. Then he said: "Hand me the foreleg." So I handed it to him. Then he said: "Hand me the foreleg." I said: "O Prophet of Allah, does the sheep have more than two forelegs?" The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Had you kept handing them to me, you would have continued to hand them."
