English Translation
Al-Abbas ibn al-Rabi' ibn Tha'lab narrated from his father, and Mahmud ibn Muhammad al-Wasiti narrated to us, from Zakariyya ibn Yahya Zahmawayh, from Hushaym, from Ubaydah, from Ibrahim, from Alqamah, from Abdullah who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) prayed the Zuhr or Asr prayer. When he completed his prayer, it was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, has something new been introduced in the prayer?' He said: 'What is it?' They said: 'You prayed five.' He faced the qiblah and prostrated twice, then said: 'I am only a human; I forget as you forget. When one of you makes an error in his prayer, let him prostrate two prostrations.'
