Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9489 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ السِّمْسَارُ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ الْبَجَلِيُّ ثنا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ لَقِيَ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ رَجُلًا فَقَالَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ فَقَالَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ صَدَقَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ﷺ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مِنْ أَشْرَاطِ السَّاعَةِ أَنْ يَمُرَّ الرَّجُلُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ لَا يُصَلِّي فِيهِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَأَنْ لَا يُسَلِّمَ الرَّجُلُ إِلَّا عَلَى مَنْ يَعْرِفُ وَأَنْ يُبْرِدَ الصَّبِيُّ الشَّيْخَ»
English Translation
A man met Ibn Mas'ud and said: 'Peace be upon you, O Ibn Mas'ud.' Ibn Mas'ud said: 'Allah and His Messenger spoke the truth.' He said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "Among the signs of the Hour is that a man passes through the mosque without praying two rak'ahs in it, that a man only greets those he knows, and that a boy is sent as a messenger by an elder."'
