English Translation
'Udaysah bint Uhban narrated: When my father was on his deathbed, he said: "Do not shroud me in a sewn garment." When he passed and was washed, they sent word to me asking for the shroud. I sent it to them. They said: "A shirt?" I said: "My father forbade me from shrouding him in a sewn shirt." So I sent for the laundryman — my father had a shirt at the laundryman's — and it was brought and put on him. When I followed the funeral and returned, the shirt was in the house. I sent for those who had washed my father and asked: "Did you shroud him in a shirt?" They said yes. I said: "Is this it?" They said yes.
