English Translation
Jabir ibn Samurah said: "I used to pray with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and when he gave the salutation, we would motion with our hands to the right and left. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'What is it that I see you motioning with your hands as though they are the tails of stubborn horses? When one of you gives the salutation, let him turn to the person on his right and the person on his left. That suffices you.'"
