Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:11763 حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ رَاهَوَيْهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي أُسَامَةَ أَحَدَّثَكُمْ زَائِدَةُ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ مِنَ الشِّعْرِ حِكَمًا وَإِنَّ مِنَ الْبَيَانِ سِحْرًا» وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَمَثَّلُ مِنَ الْأَشْعَارِ
English Translation
Ibn Abbas reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) who said: 'Indeed, in poetry there is wisdom, and in eloquence there is magic.' And the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to recite lines of poetry.
