English Translation
Ibn Abbas narrated that while Safwan ibn Umayyah was sleeping in the mosque with his cloak under his head, a man came and pulled out his cloak and took it. He was brought to the Prophet (peace be upon him), who ordered his hand to be cut off. Safwan said: 'I did not intend that a Muslim's hand would be cut off for my cloak.' The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Why did you not say that before you brought him to me?'
