ناعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِيعَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْسَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلالٍ، عَنْزَيْدِ بْنِ أَيْمَنَ، عَنْأَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَصْرِيِّ، عَنِالْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ، أَنَّ رَجُلا كَانَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَهُ مَالٌ كَثِيرٌ فَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! أَخْبِرْنِي بِعَمَلٍ أُدْرِكُ بِهِ عَمَلَ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، فَقَالَ:"كَمْ مَالُكَ؟" قَالَ: سِتَّةُ آلافِ دِينَارٍ، فَقَالَ:" لَوْ أَنْفَقْتَهَا فِي طَاعَةِ اللَّهِ لَمْ تَبْلُغْ غُبَارَ شِرَاكِ الْمُجَاهِدِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ". وَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! أَخْبِرْنِي بِعَمَلٍ أُدْرِكُ بِهِ عَمَلَ الْمُجَاهِدِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، فَقَالَ:" لَوْ قُمْتَ اللَّيْلَ وَصُمْتَ النَّهَارَ لَمْ تَبْلُغْ نَوْمَ الْمُجَاهِدِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ".
English Translation
A man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, tell me of a deed by which I may attain the reward of the mujahidin in the cause of Allah." He asked: "How much wealth do you have?" He said: "Six thousand dinars." He said: "Even if you spent it all in obedience to Allah, you would not reach the dust on the sandal strap of the mujahid in the cause of Allah." Another man came and asked the same, and the Prophet said: "Even if you stood in prayer all night and fasted all day, you would not reach even the sleep of the mujahid in the cause of Allah."
Urdu Translation
ایک شخص نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے عرض کیا:”میں کس عمل سے مجاہدین کے عمل کو پا سکتا ہوں؟“آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”اگر سارا مال خرچ کر دو، تب بھی مجاہد کے جوتے کے تسمے کے غبار کو نہیں پہنچ سکتے۔“[سنن سعید بن منصور/كتاب الجهاد/حدیث: 3482]
