Arabic (Original)
نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا مَنْصُورٌ، وَيُونُسُ، وَهِشَامٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ شُرَيْحٍ، أَنَّامْرَأَةً خَاصَمَتْ زَوْجَهَا إِلَى شُرَيْحٍ فِي الْمُتْعَةِ، فَقَالَ شُرَيْحٌ:" لا تَأْبَ أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ، لا تَأْبَ أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُتَّقِينَ"، وَلَمْ يُجْبِرْهُ.
English Translation
A woman brought a case against her husband before Shurayh demanding the consolation gift. Shurayh said to the husband: "Do not refuse to be among the doers of good; do not refuse to be among the God-fearing." But he did not compel him.
Urdu Translation
حضرت شریح رحمہ اللہ کے پاس ایک عورت متاع کے لیے مقدمہ لے کر آئی، تو آپ نے شوہر سے فرمایا:”محسنین اور متقین میں سے بنو۔“مگر زبردستی نہ کی۔[سنن سعید بن منصور/كتاب الطلاق/حدیث: 2956]
