Arabic (Original)
وعن لقيط بن عامر رضي الله عنه أنه أتى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: إن أبي شيخ كبير لا يستطيع الحج ولا العمرة، ولا الظعن قال: "حج عن أبيك واعتمر" ((رواه أبو داود والترمذي وقال: حديث حسن صحيح. )).
English Translation
Laqit bin 'Amir (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that I came to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and said: "My father is a very old man and does not have strength to perform Hajj (pilgrimage) or 'Umrah or to undertake the journey." the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, "Perform Hajj and 'Umrah on behalf of your father.".
Urdu Translation
حضرت لقیط بن عامر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ وہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے اور عرض کیا: میرے والد بہت بوڑھے ہیں، نہ حج کر سکتے ہیں نہ عمرہ اور نہ سفر کر سکتے ہیں۔ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: اپنے والد کی طرف سے حج اور عمرہ کرو۔ (حضرت ابوداؤد، ترمذی)
