Arabic (Original)
وعن سلمان بن عامر رضي الله عنه، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: "إذا أفطر أحدكم، فليفطر على تمر، فإنه بركة، فإن لم يجد تمرًا، فالماء، فإنه طهور" وقال: "الصدقة على المسكين صدقة، وعلى ذي الرحم ثنتان: صدقة وصلة". ((رواه الترمذي وقال: حديث حسن)).
English Translation
Hadrat Salman bin 'Amir (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported:the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated, "When you break fast, you should do it with a date-fruit for there is blessing in it, and if you do not find a date- fruit, break it with water for it is pure." Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) added: "Charity towards a poor person is charity, and towards a relation is both charity and maintaining the ties (of kinship)"..
Urdu Translation
حضرت سلمان بن عامر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: جب تم میں سے کوئی روزہ افطار کرے تو کھجور سے کرے کیونکہ اس میں برکت ہے، اگر کھجور نہ ملے تو پانی سے کرے کیونکہ وہ پاک کرنے والا ہے۔ اور فرمایا: مسکین پر صدقہ کرنا ایک صدقہ ہے اور رشتہ دار پر صدقہ کرنا دو (ثواب) ہے: ایک صدقے کا اور ایک صلہ رحمی کا۔
