English Translation
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came to Madinah, and the people used to make advance payment (salaf) in fruits for one and two years (that is, they used to sell on credit). Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever makes an advance payment in dates, let him make the advance in a fixed measure or a fixed weight, up to a fixed term." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 967]
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلممدینہ تشریف لائے اور لوگ پھلوں میں ایک سال اور دو سال کے لئے سلف کرتے تھے (یعنی ادھار بیع کرتے تھے) تب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ جو کوئی کھجور میں سلف کرے تو مقرر ماپ میں یا مقرر تول میں ایک مقررہ میعاد تک سلف کرے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 967]
