English Translation
Narrated Jabir ibn 'Abd Allah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was on a journey when he saw a crowd of people around a man, and the people were shading him. So he (peace be upon him) asked: "What is the matter with him?" The people said: He is a fasting person. He (peace be upon him) said: "It is not righteousness to fast while travelling."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمایک سفر میں تھے کہ ایک شخص پر لوگوں کی بھیڑ دیکھی اور لوگ اس پر سایہ کئے ہوئے تھے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے پوچھا کہ اسے کیا ہوا؟ لوگوں نے عرض کیا کہ ایک روزہ دار ہے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ سفر میں روزہ رکھنا نیکی نہیں ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 598]
