English Translation
Narrated Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him): He said to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! Teach me a supplication that I may recite in my prayer." So he (peace be upon him) said, "Say: 'O Allah! I have wronged my soul greatly,' or 'wronged it much,' 'and none forgives sins but You, so forgive me with forgiveness from Yourself and have mercy on me; indeed You are the Forgiving, the Merciful.'"
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہانہوں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! مجھے ایک دعا سکھلائیے جسے میں اپنی نماز میں پڑھا کروں تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ یہ کہا کر کہ”اے اللہ! میں نے اپنے نفس پر بڑا ظلم کیا ہے یا بہت ظلم کیا ہے اور گناہوں کو سوا تیرے کوئی نہیں بخشتا، پس تو بخش دے مجھے اپنے پاس کی بخشش سے اور مجھ پر رحم کر بیشک تو بخشنے والا مہربان ہے“۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 307]
