English Translation
Narrated Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): A Jew was selling some goods. He was offered a price, but he was not satisfied, or he found it too little, and he said, "No, by Him who chose Musa (peace be upon him) above all men." An Ansari heard these words and struck him on the face, saying, "You say Musa (peace be upon him) was chosen above all men, while the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) is among us?" The Jew came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I am a dhimmi under protection, and so-and-so struck me on the face." He (peace be upon him) asked the man, "Why did you strike this man on the face?" He said, "O Messenger of Allah, he said, 'By Him who chose Musa (peace be upon him) above all men,' while you are among us (and the rank of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, is higher than that of Musa, peace be upon him, so I struck him)." Hearing this, he (peace be upon him) became angry, until anger was evident on his blessed face, then he said, "Do not give one prophet superiority over another (in a manner that diminishes the standing of the other prophet). For on the Day of Resurrection when the Trumpet is blown, all who are in the heavens and the earth will fall unconscious, except whom Allah wills. Then it will be blown a second time, and I will be the first to rise, and I will see Musa (peace be upon him) holding onto the Throne. Now I do not know whether he is compensated for the swoon that came upon him at Mount Tur (so that he will not be unconscious this time), or whether he will regain consciousness before me. And I do not say that any prophet is superior to Yunus bin Matta (peace be upon him)." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1612]
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہایک یہودی کچھ مال بیچ رہا تھا، اس کو قیمت دی گئی تو وہ راضی نہ ہوا یا اس نے برا جانا تو بولا کہ نہیں قسم اس کی جس نے سیدنا موسیٰ علیہ السلام کو آدمیوں میں سے چنا۔ یہ لفظ ایک انصاری نے سنا تو اس کے منہ پر طمانچہ مارا اور کہا کہ تو کہتا ہے کہ سیدنا موسیٰ علیہ السلام کو آدمیوں میں سے چنا اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمہم لوگوں میں موجود ہیں؟ وہ یہودی رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آیا اور عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! میں ذمی ہوں اور امان میں ہوں اور مجھے فلاں شخص نے طمانچہ مارا ہے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اس شخص سے پوچھا کہ تو نے اس شخص کو کیوں طمانچہ مارا؟ وہ بولا کہ یا رسول اللہ! اس نے کہا کہ قسم اس کی جس نے موسیٰ علیہ السلام کو تمام آدمیوں میں چن لیا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمہم لوگوں میں تشریف رکھتے ہیں (اور سیدنا موسیٰ علیہ السلام سے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا رتبہ زیادہ ہے اس لئے میں نے اس کو مارا)۔ یہ سن کر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمغصے ہوئے، یہاں تک کہ غصہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے چہرہ مبارک پر معلوم ہونے لگا، پھر فرمایا کہ ایک پیغمبر کو دوسرے پیغمبر پر فضیلت مت دو (اس طرح سے کہ دوسرے پیغمبر کی شان گھٹے) کیونکہ قیامت کے دن جب صور پھونکا جائے گا تو آسمانوں اور زمین میں جتنے لوگ ہیں سب بیہوش ہو جائیں گے مگر جن کو اللہ تعالیٰ چاہے گا (وہ بیہوش نہ ہوں گے) پھر دوسری بار پھونکا جائے گا تو سب سے پہلے میں اٹھوں گا اور کیا دیکھوں گا کہ سیدنا موسیٰ علیہ السلام عرش تھامے ہوئے ہیں۔ اب معلوم نہیں کہ طور پہاڑ پر جو ان کو بیہوشی ہوئی تھی وہ اس کا بدلہ ہے (کہ وہ اس بار بیہوش نہ ہوں گے) یا مجھ سے پہلے ہوشیار ہو جائیں گے اور میں یوں نہیں کہتا کہ کوئی پیغمبر سیدنا یونس بن متی علیہ السلام سے افضل ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1612]
