English Translation
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: Umm Malik (may Allah be pleased with her) used to send ghee as a gift to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in a small skin. Then her sons would come and ask her for a curry (side dish), and there would be nothing in the house, so Umm Malik (may Allah be pleased with her) would go to that skin and find ghee in it. In this way the curry of her house always remained provided. Once Umm Malik (out of greed) wrung out that skin, then she came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and he (peace be upon him) inquired, "Have you wrung it out?" She replied, "Yes," so he (peace be upon him) said, "Had you left it as it was (and taken from it at the time of need), it would have remained provided forever."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہام مالک رضی اللہ عنہا رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو ایک کپی میں بطور تحفہ کے گھی بھیجا کرتی تھیں، پھر اس کے بیٹے آتے اور اس سے سالن مانگتے اور گھر میں کچھ نہ ہوتا تو ام مالک رضی اللہ عنہا اس کپی کے پاس جاتی، تو اس میں گھی ہوتا۔ اسی طرح ہمیشہ اس کے گھر کا سالن قائم رہتا۔ ایک بار ام مالک نے (حرص کر کے) اس کپی کو نچوڑ لیا، پھر وہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آئیں تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے استفسار فرمایا کہ کیا تم نے اس کو نچوڑ لیا ہے؟ انہوں نے جواب دیا ہاں تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اگر تو اس کو یوں ہی رہنے دیتی (اور ضرورت کے وقت لیتی) تو وہ ہمیشہ قائم رہتا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1536]
