English Translation
Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd said: I asked Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) about the Companions of the Tree — how many were they? He said: "Even if we were a hundred thousand, the water would have been sufficient for us, for the Prophet's supplication made the well's water increase greatly. We were fifteen hundred."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا سالم بن ابی الجعد کہتے ہیں کہمیں نے سیدنا جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے اصحاب شجرہ کے بارے میں پوچھا کہ وہ کتنے آدمی تھے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ اگر ہم لاکھ آدمی ہوتے تب بھی (وہاں کا کنواں) ہمیں کافی ہو جاتا (کیونکہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی دعا سے اس کا پانی بہت بڑھ گیا تھا) ہم پندرہ سو آدمی تھے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1217]
