حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ جَمِيعًا عَنْ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ، - قَالَ أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، - عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَوْ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، - شَكَّ الأَعْمَشُ - قَالَ لَمَّا كَانَ غَزْوَةُ تَبُوكَ أَصَابَ النَّاسَ مَجَاعَةٌ . قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَوْ أَذِنْتَ لَنَا فَنَحَرْنَا نَوَاضِحَنَا فَأَكَلْنَا وَادَّهَنَّا . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " افْعَلُوا " . قَالَ فَجَاءَ عُمَرُ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنْ فَعَلْتَ قَلَّ الظَّهْرُ وَلَكِنِ ادْعُهُمْ بِفَضْلِ أَزْوَادِهِمْ ثُمَّ ادْعُ اللَّهَ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا بِالْبَرَكَةِ لَعَلَّ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَ فِي ذَلِكَ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " نَعَمْ " . قَالَ فَدَعَا بِنِطَعٍ فَبَسَطَهُ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِفَضْلِ أَزْوَادِهِمْ - قَالَ - فَجَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يَجِيءُ بِكَفِّ ذُرَةٍ - قَالَ - وَيَجِيءُ الآخَرُ بَكَفِّ تَمْرٍ - قَالَ - وَيَجِيءُ الآخَرُ بِكِسْرَةٍ حَتَّى اجْتَمَعَ عَلَى النِّطَعِ مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَىْءٌ يَسِيرٌ - قَالَ - فَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَيْهِ بِالْبَرَكَةِ ثُمَّ قَالَ " خُذُوا فِي أَوْعِيَتِكُمْ " . قَالَ فَأَخَذُوا فِي أَوْعِيَتِهِمْ حَتَّى مَا تَرَكُوا فِي الْعَسْكَرِ وِعَاءً إِلاَّ مَلأُوهُ - قَالَ - فَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى شَبِعُوا وَفَضِلَتْ فَضْلَةٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ لاَ يَلْقَى اللَّهَ بِهِمَا عَبْدٌ غَيْرَ شَاكٍّ فَيُحْجَبَ عَنِ الْجَنَّةِ " .
English Translation
Al-A'mash narrated from Abu Salih, from Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be well pleased with him) — or from Hadrat Abu Sa'id (may Allah be well pleased with him), al-A'mash was uncertain — who said: During the expedition of Tabuk, the people were afflicted with hunger. They submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), if you permit us, we shall slaughter our water-carrying camels and eat from them and use their fat. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: Do so. Hadrat Umar (may Allah be well pleased with him) submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), if you do that, the riding animals will become fewer. Rather, if you call the people to bring their remaining food and then supplicate to Allah the Exalted for blessings in it, perhaps Allah the Exalted will grant blessings therein. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: Yes. Then he called for a leather mat and spread it out, then told the people to bring their remaining food. One brought a handful of barley, another a handful of dates, another a piece of bread, until a small amount was gathered on the mat. Then the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) supplicated for blessings and then stated: Fill your vessels. Everyone filled their vessels until no vessel in the entire camp remained empty. Everyone ate to their fill and there was still food remaining. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) then stated: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that I am the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). No servant meets Allah with these two testimonies, without any doubt regarding them, and is then barred from Paradise.
Urdu Translation
اعمش نے ابو صالح سے، انہوں نے — اعمش کو شک ہے — حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے یا حضرت ابو سعید رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ غزوۂ تبوک کے موقع پر لوگوں کو (زادِ راہ ختم ہو جانے کی وجہ سے) فاقے لاحق ہو گئے۔ لوگوں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! اگر آپ ہمیں اجازت دیں تو ہم پانی ڈھونے والے اونٹ ذبح کر لیں، ان سے کھائیں اور ان کی چربی استعمال کریں۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ایسا کر لو۔ حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! اگر آپ ایسا فرمائیں تو لوگوں کا سامان سواری کم ہو جائے گا، لیکن اگر آپ ان سے فرمائیں کہ وہ اپنا بچا ہوا کھانا لے آئیں، پھر آپ اس میں اللہ تعالیٰ سے برکت کی دعا فرمائیں، شاید اللہ تعالیٰ اس میں برکت عطا فرما دے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ہاں۔ پھر آپ نے ایک دسترخوان منگوایا اور اسے بچھایا، پھر لوگوں سے فرمایا کہ اپنا بچا ہوا کھانا لائیں۔ کوئی مٹھی بھر جو لایا، کوئی مٹھی بھر کھجوریں، کوئی روٹی کا ٹکڑا لایا، یہاں تک کہ دسترخوان پر تھوڑا سا سامان جمع ہو گیا۔ پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے برکت کی دعا فرمائی اور پھر ارشاد فرمایا: اپنے برتنوں میں لے لو۔ سب نے اپنے برتن بھر لیے یہاں تک کہ لشکر میں کوئی برتن خالی نہ رہا۔ سب نے سیر ہو کر کھایا اور بچ بھی رہا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اس وقت ارشاد فرمایا: میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں اور میں اللہ کا رسول ہوں۔ جو بندہ بغیر کسی شک کے ان دونوں شہادتوں کے ساتھ اللہ سے ملاقات کرے گا تو جنت سے محروم نہ رکھا جائے گا۔
