وَحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، ح قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ رُمْحٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ صَلَّى مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ لأَصْحَابِهِ الْعِشَاءَ فَطَوَّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَانْصَرَفَ رَجُلٌ مِنَّا فَصَلَّى فَأُخْبِرَ مُعَاذٌ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ مُنَافِقٌ . فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ ذَلِكَ الرَّجُلَ دَخَلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأَخْبَرَهُ مَا قَالَ مُعَاذٌ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أَتُرِيدُ أَنْ تَكُونَ فَتَّانًا يَا مُعَاذُ إِذَا أَمَمْتَ النَّاسَ فَاقْرَأْ بِالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا . وَسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى . وَاقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ . وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى " .
English Translation
Qutayba ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Layth narrated to us; and Ibn Rumh narrated to us, al-Layth informed us from Abu Hadrat al-Zubayr, from Hadrat Jabir (may Allah be well pleased with him), who said: Hadrat Mu'adh ibn Jabal al-Ansari (may Allah be well pleased with him) led his companions in the Isha prayer and prolonged the recitation. A man from among us turned aside and prayed alone. Hadrat Mu'adh (may Allah be well pleased with him) was informed about him, so he said: He is a hypocrite. When that reached the man, he came to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and informed him of what Hadrat Mu'adh had said. The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated to Hadrat Mu'adh (may Allah be well pleased with him): 'O Hadrat Mu'adh, do you want to be one who puts people to trial? When you lead the people in prayer, recite By the sun and its morning brightness [91], and Glorify the name of thy Most High Lord [87], and Read in the name of thy Lord [96], and By the night when it envelopes [92].'
Urdu Translation
ہمیں قتیبہ بن سعید نے حدیث بیان کی، کہا ہمیں لیث نے حدیث بیان کی، نیز ہمیں ابن رمح نے حدیث بیان کی، کہا ہمیں لیث نے ابو حضرت زبیر سے خبر دی، انہوں نے حضرت جابر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ حضرت معاذ بن جبل انصاری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے اپنے ساتھیوں کو عشاء کی نماز پڑھائی اور اس میں طویل قراءت فرمائی۔ ہم میں سے ایک آدمی الگ ہو گیا اور اس نے اکیلے نماز پڑھ لی۔ حضرت معاذ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو اس کے بارے میں بتایا گیا تو انہوں نے کہا: وہ منافق ہے۔ جب یہ بات اس آدمی تک پہنچی تو وہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور آپ کو بتایا کہ حضرت معاذ نے کیا کہا۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے حضرت معاذ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے فرمایا: ''اے حضرت معاذ! کیا تم فتنہ ڈالنے والے بننا چاہتے ہو؟ جب لوگوں کی امامت کراؤ تو ﴿وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا﴾ اور ﴿سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى﴾ اور ﴿اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ﴾ اور ﴿وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى﴾ پڑھا کرو۔''
