حَدَّثَنَامُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: ثَنَاوَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْشُعْبَةَ، عَنْخُبَيْبٍ، عَنْعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ نِيَارٍ، عَنْسَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَرَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِذَا خَرَصْتُمْ فَخُذُوا وَدَعُوا، دَعُوا الثُّلُثَ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَدَعُوا الثُّلُثَ فَدَعُوا الرُّبُعَ".
English Translation
Hakim ibn Hizam (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and he gave me. I asked again and he gave me. Then he said: "O Hakim, this wealth is green and sweet. Whoever takes it with a generous soul will be blessed in it, and whoever takes it with greed will not be blessed, like one who eats without ever being satisfied. The upper hand is better than the lower hand."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا سہل بن ابی حثمہ رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: جب تم زراعت کا اندازہ لگاؤ تو زکاة لو اور تیسرا حصہ چھوڑ دو، اگر تیسرا حصہ نہ چھوڑ سکو تو چوتھا حصہ چھوڑ دو۔[المنتقى ابن الجارود/كتاب الزكاة/حدیث: 352]
