Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: I was riding behind Hadrat Abu Talhah (may Allah be well pleased with him) on the Day of Khaybar, and my foot was touching the foot of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). We came to Khaybar and they had come out with their shovels, axes, and baskets, saying: "Muhammad and his army!" The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Allah is the Greatest! Khaybar is ruined! When we descend in the territory of a people, evil is the morning for those who have been warned." The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) fought them and defeated them. When the spoils were distributed, it was mentioned to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) that a beautiful girl had fallen in the share of Dihyah al-Kalbi. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) bought her for seven heads, then entrusted her to Umm Sulaym to prepare her — and Umm Sulaym used to go on expeditions with the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He called for leather mats, and they were brought. He placed the leather mats and dates and ghee were brought, and he provided them generously with hays. The people ate until they were satisfied. The people said: "Has he married her or taken her as a concubine?" They said: "If he veils her, she is his wife, and if he does not, she is his concubine." When she was about to mount, he veiled her until she sat behind him on the back of the camel, then she mounted. When they drew near Madinah, he hastened and the people hastened, and the women peered out to look. The Beloved Messenger of Allah's (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) camel stumbled and he fell, and Safiyyah fell. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stood and veiled her. The women said: "May Allah distance the Jewess," and they rejoiced at her misfortune. Thabit said: I asked Anas: "O Abu Hamzah, did the Messenger of Allah fall from his camel?" He said: "By Allah, yes, he fell from his camel, O Abu Muhammad."
Urdu Translation
حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں: میں خیبر کے دن حضرت ابو طلحہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے پیچھے سوار تھا اور میرا پاؤں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاؤں کو چھو رہا تھا۔ ہم خیبر پہنچے تو وہ اپنے بیلچے، کلہاڑیاں اور ٹوکریاں لے کر نکل آئے اور کہنے لگے: محمد اور لشکر! رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: «اللہ اکبر! خیبر تباہ ہوا! جب ہم کسی قوم کے میدان میں اترتے ہیں تو ڈرائے ہوئے لوگوں کی صبح بری ہوتی ہے۔» رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ان سے جنگ کی اور انہیں شکست دی۔ جب مالِ غنیمت تقسیم ہوا تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو بتایا گیا کہ دحیہ کلبی کے حصے میں ایک خوبصورت لڑکی آئی ہے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اسے سات غلاموں کے عوض خریدا اور اُمّ سُلیم کے حوالے کیا تاکہ وہ اسے تیار کریں — اُمّ سُلیم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ساتھ غزوات میں جایا کرتی تھیں۔ آپ نے چمڑے کے دسترخوان منگوائے، ان پر کھجوریں اور گھی رکھا گیا اور لوگوں کو حیس (ایک مٹھائی) خوب کھلایا۔ لوگوں نے سیر ہو کر کھایا۔ لوگوں نے کہا: آپ نے ان سے نکاح کیا یا اُمّ ولد بنایا؟ کہا: اگر پردہ کرائیں تو بیوی ہیں اور اگر نہ کرائیں تو اُمّ ولد ہیں۔ جب سوار ہونے لگیں تو آپ نے پردہ کیا یہاں تک کہ وہ آپ کے پیچھے اونٹ پر بیٹھ گئیں۔ جب مدینہ کے قریب پہنچے تو آپ نے تیز چلایا اور لوگوں نے بھی تیز چلایا، عورتیں جھانکنے لگیں۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی سواری ٹھوکر کھا گئی اور آپ گر پڑے اور صفیہ بھی گر پڑیں۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کھڑے ہوئے اور ان پر پردہ ڈالا۔ عورتوں نے کہا: اللہ اس یہودن کو دور کرے، اور خوش ہوئیں۔ ثابت نے کہا: میں نے انس سے پوچھا: ابو حمزہ! کیا رسول اللہ اپنی سواری سے گرے؟ انہوں نے کہا: واللہ ہاں، ابو محمد! آپ اپنی سواری سے گرے۔
