أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنِّي لَبِعُقْرِ حَوْضِي أَذُودُ عَنْهُ لِأَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ أَضْرِبُ بِعَصَايَ حَتَّى يَرْفَضَّ» فَسُئِلَ عَنْ عَرَضِهِ فَقَالَ «مِنْ مَقَامِي هَذَا إِلَى عَمَّانَ» وَسُئِلَ عَنْ شَرَابِهِ فَقَالَ «أَشَدُّ بَيَاضًا مِنَ اللَّبَنِ وَأَحْلَى مِنَ الْعَسَلِ فِيهِ مِيزَابَانِ يُمَدَّانِ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ أَحَدُهُمَا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَالْآخَرُ مِنْ وَرِقٍ»
English Translation
Umar ibn Muhammad al-Hamdani narrated to us, he said: Bundar narrated to us, he said: Yahya ibn Hammad narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd, from Ma'dan ibn Abi Talhah, from Thawban, from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'I will be at the edge of my Basin, defending it for the people of Yemen, striking with my staff until they scatter.' He was asked about its width, and he said: 'From my standing place here to Amman.' And he was asked about its drink, and he said: 'Whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. It has two spouts that are supplied from Paradise, one of gold and the other of silver.'
