Arabic (Original)
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ قَالَ «أَلَسْتُمْ فِي طَعَامٍ وَشَرَابٍ مَا شِئْتُمْ؟
English Translation
Hadrat al-Nu'man ibn Bashir (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: "Are you not enjoying food and drink as much as you wish? I saw the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) not finding enough dates of the lowest quality to fill his stomach."
Urdu Translation
حضرت نعمان بن بشیر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے: "کیا تم جتنا چاہو کھانے پینے میں نہیں ہو؟ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو دیکھا کہ آپ کو گھٹیا کھجوریں بھی اتنی نہیں ملتی تھیں کہ پیٹ بھر لیں۔"
