أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مَوْهِبٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَعْمَلُ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فِيمَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَإِنَّهُ لِمَنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَعْمَلُ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فِيمَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَإِنَّهُ لِمَنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ»
English Translation
Hadrat Sahl ibn Sa'd (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated from the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) who used to say: "Indeed, a man may do the deeds of the people of Paradise as far as the people can see, yet he is from the people of the Fire. And indeed, a man may do the deeds of the people of the Fire as far as the people can see, yet he is from the people of Paradise."
Urdu Translation
حضرت سہل بن سعد رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے روایت ہے، آپ فرمایا کرتے تھے: "بے شک ایک آدمی لوگوں کے دیکھنے میں جنت والوں کے عمل کرتا ہے حالانکہ وہ جہنمیوں میں سے ہوتا ہے۔ اور بے شک ایک آدمی لوگوں کے دیکھنے میں جہنم والوں کے عمل کرتا ہے حالانکہ وہ جنتیوں میں سے ہوتا ہے۔"
